Dance Studio Acoustics

LA Sound Panels was contacted by a dance studio in Los Angeles to help solve acoustic issues.

Problem: The room was approximately 25? x 18? with 8? ceilings. The walls and ceiling were drywall and the floors were wood.

The owner described the echo in the room as “dizzying” when people spoke and music was played. Her dance students had a hard time understanding her instructions and she would raise her voice in an attempt to be heard more clearly. After an hour of listening to music and speech in the room, the owner and students would suffer from ear fatigue. The owner wanted to “deaden” the room while still leaving space for artwork on the walls.

Solution: 14 Full-Tone Acoustic Panels (with Guilford of Maine fabric upgrade) were installed in the room. The panels were spaced evenly (Floor to Ceiling/Wall To Wall) on all four walls with space left for a large mirror on one wall.
